18 weeks....WOW!!!

How your baby's growing:
Head to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and he weighs almost 7 ounces. He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. His blood vessels are visible through his thin skin, and his ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from his head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around his nerves, a process that will continue for a year after he's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.

PS...on another baby note...our dear dear friends Michael and Jennifer(who is one week a head of me!) Foster are having their "big" ultrasound today, we prayed for them this morning at breakfast, that Jennifer and the baby would be so healthy and that her and Michael have such a beautiful experience! ohhh yeah....they are also finding out if its a boy or girl today....CALL ME RIGHT NOW JENNIFER!!! ;)

butterflys? flutters?...

I have heard it being described tons of different ways from moms over the past few weeks...but last night...i finally got to feel it for myself!!!!! I (officially) felt the baby move last night! I say officially because over the past few weeks there have been moments of "ummm was that it??", but it would be one little feeling, then i would not feel anything again for days...well last night while jake and i were relaxing, in this yucky winter storm, switching back and forth between "24" and "the bachelor", i felt it once, then again, then again, I felt constant movement for probably 20 minutes!! IT WAS INCREDIBLE! And REALLY weird!! It was not what i was expecting, it did not feel like flutters...for me it felt more like popping popcorn or a really off beat, un-rhythmic beating pulse. Anyway i have felt it again once or twice today, but i CAN NOT WAIT to feel that constant movement again from my litte tiny person!!

16 week appointment...

Friday was my 16 week midwife appointment. It was a really special one because my mommy came with me!! We had to wait awhile because Ann was really backed up (i should have guessed when they called earlier that week trying to reschedule me to another day). But it wasn't so bad, mom and i got a chance to chat anyway. They weighed me (i have lost a pound, so my total weight gain so far is only one pound!!! where is that huge swollen belly coming from then??!!! must be all uterus! ;) Mom met Ann, Ann found the baby (right below my belly button!! ;), and we listed to the heart beat....it was SO much louder this time! Mommy was taking pictures the whole time, and Ann was ready to pose :) We discussed my questions on Vitamin A (i thought i was getting too much) and Hypnobirthing. And now only 4 more weeks until my next appointment! What is so strange is that by my next appointment i will be half way done with this 40 week journey!! The first trimester went by so slow for us, i think just because we were so nervous about the baby staying healthy. BUT this 2nd trimester is a whole nother story....it is going by SO fast...we don't mind... WE just cant wait to meet this little person!!!!

15 weeks!!!!!!

How your baby's growing:
Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds. Finally, if you have an ultrasound this week, you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or a girl! (Don't be too disappointed if it remains a mystery, though. Nailing down your baby's sex depends on the clarity of the picture and on your baby's position. He or she may be modestly curled up or turned in such a way as to "hide the goods.")

*ps....if you didnt know...we are NOT finding out if baby seaton #1 is a boy or a girl until B-day!!!

Happy 2009!!!....and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

My love is a New Years Baby!!! Happy 28th Birthday jacob!!!!!! I am one lucky girl to be able to say that im your wife!!!

Its about time...huh?!!

it seems there has been a few times that i have gone an extraordinary amount of time in between blog post.... obviously we all have times in our lives that are crazier then others and this past 10 days has been one of those...it being Christmas time I'm sure if was for many of you guys too!!!
In a 5 day period we went to Stillwater to have Christmas with my Mommy and brother, went to the amazing Christmas eve service at Crossings, Spend Christmas morning with the seatons, including driving to Purcell to have lunch with my father-in-laws family, drove to Tulsa, had Christmas with my Grandparents(moms side), spent the night in Tulsa, then Drove to Miami to have Christmas with my dad and other Grandparents, then drove to Joplin to hang out with Jakes cousin and his wife, Kyler and Kandy (THANKS Kandy for by cute "belly" book!!). Drove to Sarcoxie, spent the night with Jakes aunt and uncle, drove to Carthage to have Christmas with Jakes whole family, then drove back "home" to house/dog sit for Rhonda and Steve.
We finally made it to our house Monday morning at 7:30am to get dressed and go to work. The moment we got home from work on Monday we headed out to the Rehearsal dinner for Jacki and Paul, got home just in time for me to fall asleep....one more work day....then yesterday (new years eve) was Jacki and Pauls wedding, Jake married them and i did the photos...my last professional photo job :(.
Jacki is one of my best childhood-friends mom. She and Paul had a lovely wedding in their home, it was just beautiful and tear-filled, and they sure know how to throw a party!! While I stayed to do photos, jake left to head downtown to run sound for the "wise guys", the band who played for the "opening night" party downtown OKC. I didnt see him until about one this morning, but i woke up to have a little snack with him and give him my new years kiss/birthday kiss :)
We are so grateful to have the next few days of doing NOTHING!! as you can tell, this girl who is "with child" needs some rest!!
