just at the right time...
man God knows exactly the right moments to show encouragement...Piper and i were having a bit of a rough morning...she was pretty fussy and all she wanted to do was sit on the couch and nurse...and a1thought when she gets in these moods i get nothing done...i really don't mind...but today she was on and off, pulling, getting distracted...so on and it was really getting to me...this sweet time that we were should have been sharing was making me frustrated and hurt! she eventually fell asleep so during her nap i searched out for some encouragement and came across this video! Practically in tears i realized that this selfless gift of not only amazing nutrition but comfort i am giving to my little girl is worth EVERY SECOND!! the dishes will get done later...my nipples will heal...but what i am showing her when i nurse her where ever or whenever she needs it is the love and security she will always have in me and that is priceless!
this video also really makes me wish piper and i had more photos of us nursing..i think we only have 2 or 3 from our early days together...i need to talk to jake about that :)

blue...
the 2 things people notice about Piper right away is the dimple in her chin and her beautiful blue eyes!! I have tried to capture them from day one...and haven't really been able to do them justice...well when piper and i woke up this morning the light in our room was perfect!! I ran to get the camera and got this photo!! I did a small about of editing...but i purposefully did not touch her eyes(or the spit up on her lip ;)...how am i ever going to resist those piercingly beautiful eyes!!!

100% Peru...
My mother-in-law and sister-in-law went on a medical misson trip a couple of years ago to Peru...it completely changed their lives...like i have heard misson trips do (i need to go on one someday!!)...My sister-in-law became really close friends with a girl that was apart of the program they worked with named Rachele, so close in fact that she has come to America to stay with Heather twice since the misson trip...and of course Rachele and i have become friends as well...last time she was here i was pregnant :) well she was here again for 2 weeks at the first of February...and this time she brought her boyfriend Arturo! Rachele and Arturo teach at the same school in Peru...and Arturo is a Rugby coach!! We had so much fun during those two weeks...going to church together...having a super bowl party with them...and eating lots of awesome food. They spent alot of time shopping for stuff they cant get in Peru...they LOVE Ross dress for less ;) and they love stuff like lucky charms and little debbies...ahaha i love it!! Arturo and Rachele are getting married soon and we hope to maybe go to Peru to their wedding!!!
Thank you Rachele and Arturo for Pipers super cute Peru onesie!!!!

i strive for family organazation....
and saving money!!! Since July when my job title changed to mommy/home economist i have tried to find as many ways possible to organize the running of our house hold and to save money. Our motto is..."Jake makes the money and Christy saves it" :) One of those things we did was subscribe to e-mealz for 3 months. E-mealz has truly saved us tons of money and more then anything it has actually organized our meal system...its amazing. But to add to that (and i totally stole this idea from my friend lauren...who stole it from her cousin liz:)...i put together a list of all our staple items that we need at the store frequently...i walked around target and walked from room to room in our home to make sure i listed everything :) i then laminated the list and we have it on our fridge...so anytime we run out of an item...want an item...or need an item...we just take our dry erase marker and check the box...so when its time to do our shopping everything is all ready to go and organized so i don't forget things or spend too much on impulse purchases;) pretty cool huh?!
I know its probablly totally old school and everyone reading this has some application on their iphone to accomplish the exact same thing...but a)i dont have and iphone:) and b)i am old school!

teething...
wow! we are in the mist of a teething little girl!...how do i know?...
A)something very sharp lying right under the gums...cant see much...but you sure can feel it!
B)serious crankiness (as shown by the 30 minutes i just spent with a screaming baby...who could not even be soothed with nursing!)
C)runny nose (i think this is a sign??)
D)major drooling!
E)green poops (and no she is not even close to eating enough food for her poops to change)
F)mommy being turned into a human teether!
ok mom blog followers....since i now know its coming...any advice for nursing a baby/toddler with teeth!!??

Poem for Piper....
Tater...
she was a Tater
for a little while
then she came into the world
and made her family smile
even before she
had donned her first diaper
she received a new name
her parents called her Piper
as she grows up
in faith, hope and love
she'll be known forever
as a gift from God above
there will come a day when sooner or later
you will tell this precious girl
how she was once called Tater
by Joe A. Jones
I can not even express the emotion i felt when this poem was read to me! Just the idea that someone put such thought into these sweet words about my little girl just overwhelms me!! My father-in-law teaches a Sunday school class (ok to be honest his class is larger then some small churches!) at our church and a bible study on Tuesday morning that this man, the author, Joe Jones is in. My father-in-law called Piper...tater...almost from day one that we were expecting...so thats where that comes from :) by the way...Joe is publishing a book of poems soon!!!
